Businessman Dick Leinenkugel, a beer fortune heir who had been running for the Republican nomination to go up against Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI), suddenly dropped out of the race -- unable to overcome opposition from conservatives over his recent tenure as state Secretary of Commerce for Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle.
Rumor has it that Leinenkugel was talked into running after going on a beer run wit da Combo. Wenzel double-dog dared him! Once he sobered up, only then he realized that his liver could never stand the punishment of da race and he became a drop out. Too bad, we liked his campaign slogan,
"Russ don't know Dick"!
